Functional Training - Strength training programs on machines provides an artificial stabilization and only allows isolated, uni-planar training. Functional training is a comprehensive approach that uses multi-planar exercises. The exercises involve acceleration, deceleration and stabilization movements. The class is designed to focus on various preventative, reconditioning, and performance techniques. The goal of the class is to improve the functionality of the kinetic chain (the body). This class is an intermediate class that will provides a great total body workout.
General Conditioning - Combine the excitement of group classes and individual attention by learning the proper mechanics of various resistance-training exercises. The General Conditioning class offers an effective program for both beginners and intermediates. The class involves cardiovascular, resistance-training, flexibility and abdominal exercises. It presents a well-rounded program to improve your physical and mental well being.
Target Heart Rate - The Target Heart Rate class offers a complete fitness program to condition the cardiovascular system while toning and strengthening the entire body. The class involves a rotation between cardiovascular and resistance-training exercises, with each station clocked at 45 seconds. This is an energizing workout where you burn approximately 300 plus calories in a fun, hard-working environment.
Pilates - Pilates' exercises are designed to strengthen the core part of the body by developing pelvic stability and abdominal control. In addition, the exercises improve flexibility and joint mobility, as well as build strength. Pilates can help you develop long, strong muscles, a flat stomach and a strong back. The classes can also improve posture. Of course, these changes are dependent on lifestyle factors, such as a well-balanced diet and regular aerobic exercise.
Exercise Ball - The Exercise ball class is fun, safe and easy to follow workout is great for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. The exercise balls improve strength, flexibility and posture training. The exercises specifically work your abs, hips, and buns and back like never before. The exercise ball class is a one hour class designed specifically for the entire body. The ball provides a challenge to traditional exercises (e.g. crunches and leg extensions) in areas of balance, resistance and flexibility.
Circuit Training - A method of weightlifting that can build both cardiovascular and muscular strength simultaneously. Circuit Training is done by choosing numerous weightlifting exercises (10 or more) and moving between them quickly enough between sets to keep the heart rate up in the aerobic range.
Cardio-Kickboxing - A safe and effective boxing and kickboxing techniques in an aerobic format. This is a multilevel class.
